Final Project Ideas. July 23, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — mstrader @ 1:39 pm

For my final project, since I’m GDB, I think that doing a well-done, visually appealing identity site would be the most beneficial to me.  I’m still sketching ideas and researching other designs to figure out exactly the “look” and “content” that my site should have.  I would love to incorporate some animation into it, but not yet taken the Vector Animation class…but maybe, I can figure out one of the web-animation programs…we’ll see.

Looking around at other identity site is a good way to start looking for idea, and to see what is already out there.

Well, Melissa, looks like we are all in the same boat, at least the GDB students are. I am in the process of doing research as well. Remember to view the sites and keep in mind what it was about the site that attracted you. Was it color choice, type faces, layout? These are the things I am trying to remember as I do my research and figure out what best showcases me as a designer. I am sure what ever you decide to do will be awesome.

I’d like to have some kind of animation on my site as well. I’m not sure exactly how to code it onto my site tho. Hopefully we can cover that at least a little in this class :) Good Luck!

I have a thing about animation [totally personal :) ]but I will at least challenge you to define what “annimation” will accomplish for your site. I doubt you mean animation for its own sake, but that always appears when a design is birthed and there are “cool” things out there that would be neat to have on our sites. If you plan on having animation as part of your career, it makes lots of sense. If you have a purpose that only animation can accomplish or demonstrate, likewise, it will make a lot of sense. Otherwise???
